COOKIE_PROTOCOL v1.0
> Last Updated: March 11, 2025
Transparency is core to the VaporLink protocol. This policy explains how we use cookies and similar technologies to ensure our secure file sharing service remains fast and reliable.
[ 01_WHAT_ARE_COOKIES ]
Cookies are small text files placed on your device to store data that can be recalled by a web server. We use these "packets" to remember your session and maintain security as you move between different nodes of the platform.
[ 02_STRICTLY_NECESSARY_COOKIES ]
These cookies are essential for the operation of VaporLink. Without them, core features like the Dashboard and secure uploads would not function:
- Session Handlers (Clerk): Temporarily stores unique, encrypted tokens to verify your identity.
- Routing Data (Vercel): Helps our global edge network route your requests to the nearest server for maximum speed.
- CSRF Protection: Prevents malicious websites from making unauthorized requests on your behalf.
[ 03_ANALYTICS_&_PERFORMANCE ]
we use anonymized analytics to monitor the health of our infrastructure. This data does not identify you personally and is only used to improve system performance and detect service outages.
[ 04_THIRD_PARTY_RESTRICTIONS ]
Unlike many platforms, VaporLink **does not** allow third-party advertising cookies, social media tracking pixels, or "behavioral analytics" that monitor your interests across other websites.
[ 05_MANAGING_COOKIES ]
You can choose to disable cookies in your browser settings. However, please be aware that the **Upload** and **Dashboard** features rely on these secure tokens. If disabled, you may only be able to use the basic download features.
SYSTEM_LOG: Cookie usage is strictly limited to functional performance and session security.
