How VaporLink protects your data
An inside look at the technical measures VaporLink uses to ensure your files remain private and secure.
Behind the Scenes: How VaporLink Secures Your Data
Security is the core of VaporLink. From the moment you drag a file into the upload zone, several layers of protection go into action to ensure your data is safe.
Layer 1: End-to-End Encryption
Your data is encrypted using AES-256 before it even finishes uploading. This ensures that even if someone intercepts the traffic, all they see is encrypted noise.
Layer 2: Zero-Knowledge Storage
We store your files on a global edge network, but we don't store the keys. The "Key" is part of the URL you are given. Without that specific URL, the data on our servers is useless.
Layer 3: Ephemeral Infrastructure
We don't use traditional database-heavy storage for files. We use high-performance edge storage with hard-coded expiration logic. When the 24-hour timer hits zero, the storage pointer is wiped and the data blocks are marked for immediate overwrite.
Layer 4: Minimal Metadata
We don't track your IP, your location, or your identity for casual shares. We only keep the bare minimum metadata (file name and size) needed to serve the download link.
Summary
At VaporLink, we believe that the best way to keep data safe is to not have it for a second longer than necessary. Our vaporization protocol is the ultimate defense against data breaches.
